WALTON COUNTY, FL. ( WMBB ) – South Walton Fire District firefighters responded to a residential structure fire to the garage and exterior of a residence in Inlet Beach on Friday.

Just after 3:30 p.m., fire officials said a 911 caller reported to SWFD that smoke and flames were visible from the ground floor area between two four-story homes on Palm Court Lane.

Bystanders were attempting to keep the fire from growing further with a garden hose, officials said.

Four suspects arrested for grand theft in Panama City, valued over $200,000 reportedly

According to a news release, upon the firefighter’s arrival, minutes later they found fire coming from the corner of one of the homes near the garage. It also spread into the landscape between the two structures, fire officials confirmed.

Firefighters entered the home to alert multiple individuals within the residence and assisted them in evacuating. Additional crews were placing water on the fire however crews discovered it was being fed by the gas and electric utilities located on the home’s exterior, fire officials wrote.

Firefighters remained on the scene for approximately two hours.

Fire officials reported there were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

The South Walton Fire District Fire Marshal investigated the cause of the fire and determined it was likely attributed to electrical issues on the exterior of the home.
