BAY COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – One of the biggest elections in Bay County involved Sheriff Tommy Ford.

Ford faced a challenge from former Bay County Sheriff Deputy Andy Husar.

Ford came out on top with 78% of the vote to Husar’s 22%.

Ford was in studio with News 13’s Chris Marchand to discuss his victory.

“It means the world to me,” said Sheriff Ford. “It’s been the greatest honor to serve as Sheriff and I’ve served during some of Bay County’s most trying times.”

“I really think this election is not so much about me, but as a referendum on the men and women of the Bay County Sheriff’s Office and what they do to to make the citizens feel safe,” said Ford.

Ford said it is rewarding to have the confidence of the voters.

“We’re gonna make a great agency greater,” said Ford.
