RALEIGH, N.C. — Alvin Constantine of Warrenton tried his luck on a $1 Cash 5 ticket and won a $110,000 jackpot.

Constantine bought his lucky Quick Pick ticket from Tobacco Plus on East Macon Street in Warrenton. He matched all five numbers to win the jackpot. The odds of matching numbers on all five white balls are 1 in 962,598.

He claimed his prize at lottery headquarters on April 4 in Raleigh and, after required federal and state tax withholdings, took home $78,650.

Cash 5 is one of six lottery games in North Carolina where players have the option of buying their tickets at a retail location or with Online Play through the lottery’s website or with the NC Lottery Official Mobile App.

Warren County has received state grants totaling $30 million from monies raised by the lottery to help with school construction. For details on other ways money raised by the lottery made a difference in Warren County last year, visit www.nclottery.com and click on the “Impact” section.
