BAYBORO, N.C. (WNCT) — It was a busy afternoon in Pamlico County on Monday as the Pamlico County Middle School and Pamlico County High School students had a reason to celebrate.

The SkillsUSA team at the middle school celebrated their end-of-year banquet by recognizing a few students for their accomplishments this season. That includes Adyson Grant, a student who took first place in the entire state for her design of the SkillsUSA pin logo for the next year. Grant’s design took first out of hundreds of submissions from middle and high schools across the state.

Meanwhile, the seniors of Pamlico County High School celebrated with a senior sunset. The fun-filled event had a dunk-tank, food trucks and a raffle for some of the senior students.

“This is really about celebrating each of their individual paths to get here,” said Becky Lansche, principal of Pamlico County High School. “Our mission is to educate and empower them to be enrolled, enlisted, or employed in the world after graduation, and I am so proud of everyone.”
