‘So excited’: South Carolina woman wins $260,591 jackpot while visiting North Carolina

(WGHP) — Tawney Horn, of Fort Mill, South Carolina, plays the Wheel of Bonuses digital instant game, and won a $260,591 jackpot in North Carolina, according to an NC Education Lottery news release.

“That’s my favorite game,” Horn said. “It’s the only one I really play.”

She played a $10 ticket on July 20 while visiting North Carolina and won the top-level jackpot in the Wheel of Bonuses game, which is a digital instant game featuring a progressive jackpot that can be won at any time.

The odds of that win are 1 in 3.1 million.

“I was so excited,” she said. “I really was just sitting there playing that game like I always do.”

She claimed her prize on Friday. After required federal and state tax withholdings, she took home $186,326.

Horn said she plans to use her winnings to “do something special for our children.”
