CRAVEN COUNTY, N.C. (WNCT) — Senator Bob Brinson, a former New Bern Board of Alderman member, had his local Oath of Office Ceremony in New Bern on Friday.

Brinson recently became the state senator for District 2 following Jim Perry’s resignation. North Carolina’s District 2 covers Craven, Beaufort and Lenoir Counties.

The Oath Ceremony was held in the Craven County Courthouse on Friday and was presided over by Judge Gus Willis, who Senator Brinson refers to as a friend.

Senator Brinson took to his Facebook page to announce the honor stating that, “Law makers East of 95 must work together to help our rural communities.”

He also thanked Senator Norman Sanderson, Representative Keith Kidwell and Candidate Wyatt Gable for attending his ceremony.
