WNCT.com’s Get in the Game: Rhiley Holley

APEX, N.C. (WNCT) — Shortstop and second baseman Rhiley Holley travels with the Team Freeman All-Stars baseball team. He said he’s been working on his skills for a long time.

”I love how fun it is and really that’s it because, baseball, I’ve been playing it since I was very young. So I’ve been getting used to it, been getting better,” Holley said.

He said he works on improving his batting and throwing regularly. ”Baseball’s important to me because it was always my dream to make it to the big leagues when I grow up,” Holley said.

He doesn’t know where he wants to go to college, but he said one thing is certain; he wants to keep playing baseball. Holley’s love for the game stems from the influence of his grandfather, a former baseball player.

”He played baseball in the backyard with me sometimes,” Holley said. The time he’s spent playing for the Team Freeman All-Stars has given him a lot of opportunity to grow.

”The All-Stars give you a good experience and the travel ball part also gives you a good experience as well,” he said. “The team is really close together. We really bond well.”
