Ongoing investigation in Greene County after house is severely damaged in fire

SNOW HILL, N.C. (WNCT) — An unoccupied home caught on fire and was severely damaged on Saturday afternoon.

When Maury Fire and Rescue arrived, they found an unoccupied single-story wooden home. A tanker shuttle water supply was established and the fire was out within two hours.

Nobody was injured but one firefighter was transported to ECU Health for heat exhaustion but has since been released.

This is an ongoing investigation.
