Head-on collision in Jacksonville leads to fatality

ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. (WNCT) — A car crash took place on U.S. 258 and N.C. Hwy 111 Monday afternoon.

Law enforcement said a vehicle was traveling from Duplin County toward the area of the crash and attempted to make a left turn on Fowler Manning Road. During the attempted turn, they ended up in front of another vehicle headed in the opposite direction toward Duplin County.

The result was a head-on collision. The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead and the driver of the other vehicle is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
