GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WNCT) — The Goldsboro Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Hunters Creek Drive early Tuesday morning.

Upon arriving, firefighters found a single-family home with smoke and fire showing. The fire was under control around 4:51 a.m. A total of 16 firefighters responded to the scene.

They said the home suffered 40 percent fire damage with smoke and heat damage throughout the home. Four people, two adults and two children were displaced. Firefighters remained on scene for another two hours and investigators stayed on scene for an additional four hours.

An investigation found the fire to be an accident and that an electrical issue was the cause.
