OSHP: 1 dead, 4 injured in three-vehicle crash on I-80 in Wood County
WOOD COUNTY, Ohio — One person is dead and another four are injured following a three-vehicle crash Friday evening on the Ohio Turnpike. Troopers responded to a report of a multi-vehicle serious injury crash at 6:31 p.m. Friday on I-80 eastbound near I-280, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Wood County Museum tells local history, hosts Free First Friday event
BOWLING GREEN — Make-your-own USA-themed sunglasses were the featured craft on Friday as the Wood County Museum hosted its monthly Free First Friday and Make-and-Take Craft event. The Wood County Museum offers free admission and craft-making to all visitors on the first Friday of each month. Admission is usually $7, or $6 for seniors and students and $3 for children. The monthly affair runs thanks to partnerships with Visit BG Ohio, Visit Perrysburg, and the Rossford Convention and Visitors Bureau. This is the first year the museum has collaborated on events with cities from across Wood County. “We've had some that have started coming out every first Friday to see what the craft is,” said Annette Wells, director of the museum. “So we do get recurring people.”
BG woman indicted for fraud
A Bowling Green woman has been indicted for illegally using assistance program benefits. A Wood County grand jury on June 26 indicted Melissa Kukla, 45, for tampering with records and illegal use of supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits or WIC program benefits, both third-degree felonies; grand theft, Medicaid fraud and Medicaid eligibility fraud, all fourth-degree felonies; and illegal use of supplemental nutrition assistance program benefits or WIC program benefits, a fifth-degree felony.

According to a report from Axios Columbus, Ohio has already tied the record for most tornadoes in a year and it’s only June. The Axios report indicates the state has experienced 62 tornadoes in 2024, matching the record set in 1992.
