    Man cited after leading police on 110 MPH pursuit on I-77

    WOOD COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 19-year-old has been cited after leading police on a 110 MPH pursuit on I-77.

    According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), on Sunday, July 7, a WCSO Deputy observed a vehicle speeding southbound on I-77.

    The deputy, traveling in a marked patrol car, noted the vehicle accelerating at a high rate of speed and began to follow it.

    Despite the deputy’s pursuit, the vehicle continued to pull away.

    The deputy successfully initiated a traffic stop and issued a citation to Braiden Michael Anthony Caplinger, 19, of Marietta, Ohio.

    Caplinger was cited for speeding, driving 110 MPH in a 70 MPH zone, and for reckless driving.
