GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Grand Rapids police have arrested a suspect who they say ran away on foot after two crashes on the West Side of the city.

Around 9 p.m., a hit-and-run crash happened near the intersection of Bridge Street and Lane Avenue, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department. Two people were injured, but the injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

The vehicle continued and crashed a second time in the area of Walker Avenue near Garfield Street. The driver fled on foot, GRPD said, but was eventually arrested uninjured.

A News 8 crew at the second crash scene saw a vehicle on its side being towed away around 10:25 p.m.
