GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Jenison-area man with dementia who went missing has been found and is safe.

Stephen Sietsema, 82, was cleared medically and reunited with his family, the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office said.

He had been reported missing Friday morning after having last been seen the night before. The sheriff’s office said it used police dogs and drones to look for Sietsema, and got help from Ottawa and Kent county search teams and volunteers.

“We want to thank the many volunteers who came out from the community to show their support and willingness to help with the search,” the sheriff’s office said.
