TALLMADGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies say two men have been charged with second-degree murder in a “road rage” crash east of Allendale that killed a 27-year-old woman.

Both 23-year-old Ethan Oosterhouse, of Middleville, and 42-year-old Denis Perez, of Grand Rapids, were arraigned Friday on charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter and reckless driving causing death, according to a release from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash happened June 25 on Lake Michigan Drive in Tallmadge Township.

Deputies: 1 dead, 2 injured in Lake Michigan Drive crash

Deputies say two eastbound vehicles — a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Oosterhouse and a Dodge Charger driven by Perez — “were involved in a ‘road rage’ incident and were driving aggressively, recklessly and speeding while traveling.”

“That driving eventually led to the collision that sent the Dodge Charger across the median,” deputies wrote.

The sheriff’s office says the Dodge Charger hit a westbound Pontiac, killing the Pontiac’s driver: 27-year-old Sha-Tera Coleman of Grand Rapids.

Deputies say Oosterhouse and Perez were taken into custody Thursday and jailed.

Bond was set at $250,000 cash/surety, and both remain in custody, deputies said Friday.
