HARTFORD, Mich. (WOOD) — Van Buren County deputies say two suspects were taken into custody Saturday after people in two trucks exchanged shots.

It happened around 1:35 p.m. at Lincoln Street and South Haver Street in Hartford, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.

The Hartford Police Department, with assistance from the sheriff’s office, responded to a report of shots fired, deputies told News 8.

According to the sheriff’s office, people in two trucks were shooting at each other. One truck crashed and that suspect ran away, while the other suspect stayed on scene and spoke with police, deputies say. They say the suspect who ran away ended up coming back and speaking with police, too.
