    Driver thrown from car, killed in Muskegon Twp

    MUSKEGON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A driver was thrown from a vehicle and died in a Monday morning crash in Muskegon Township.

    Around 7 a.m., officers with the Muskegon Township Police Department were sent to the area of northbound US-31 near Moses J. Jones Parkway for a crash.

    Responding officers learned that a 35-year-old woman was driving eastbound on Moses J. Jones Parkway and lost control of her vehicle. as she was entering the curve that merges onto northbound US-31. The vehicle left the roadway and rolled several times. The woman was thrown from the vehicle. The vehicle then went airborne and hit two vehicles that were on northbound US-31.

    The 35-year-old woman was taken to the hospital where she died, the police department said. Her name has not been released.

    One driver of a vehicle that was hit was taken to the hospital. The police department said that their injuries were not considered life-threatening.

    The crash remains under investigation.
