    Man hospitalized after shooting in Battle Creek

    BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A 39-year-old man is in the hospital after an early Sunday morning shooting in Battle Creek.

    Around 2 a.m., officers with the Battle Creek Police Department were sent to the area of Cliff Street and Mott Street after receiving reports about a shooting.

    Responding officers found a 39-year-old Battle Creek man with an apparent gunshot wound. The sheriff’s office said he was taken to the hospital. The extent of his injuries has not been released.

    Officers do not believe that the community is in danger.

    No suspect information has been released.
