MARTINY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies say two teenage girls were flown to the hospital with minor injuries after a watercraft crash in Mecosta County.

It happened around 6:25 p.m. Sunday on Horsehead Lake, which is located near 14 Mile Road and 95th Avenue in Martiny Township, according to a release from the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office.

A 62-year-old DeWitt man was driving a personal watercraft with two teenage girls on a tube, according to deputies. They say the man didn’t realize how close he was to the boat dock, and the teenagers crashed into it.

The girls, ages 13 and 14, were flown by Aero Med to the hospital with minor injuries, the sheriff’s office says. The man wasn’t hurt.
