    Here's what's planned for the Woodbridge tiki bar grand opening

    WOODBRIDGE - Anchors at Smith's Creek, the new waterfront tiki bar in the Sewaren section, will celebrate its grand opening this week.

    The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 5 p.m. July 30 at the bar, 616 Cliff Road, Mayor John E. McCormac announced on his Facebook page.

    The event will include live music by Bill and Andy and food trucks provided by Jersey Pizza Boys, Scoop to my Lou and Bussin' Empanadas.

    The tiki bar opened to the public earlier this month with hours of 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.

    There are also plans to have live music at the tiki bar Thursdays to Sundays. The tiki bar is near a large grove area with picnic tables and a band stage. The upcoming musical acts scheduled to perform have not yet posted on the bar's website.

    The bar offers Miller Lite, Mango Cart, Blue Moon and Kona Big Wave beers on tap, along with several varieties of canned beers, vodka, tequila, rum, bourbon and gin canned spirits, and wine and soft drinks, with frozen drinks to come.

    No outside food or drink is permitted. All ages are welcome and children must be accompanied by an adult and leashed dogs are also welcome, according to the bar's website.

    The tiki bar is run by the Woodbridge Arts Alliance which also operates Curtains Bar and Restaurant, part of the Avenel Performing Arts Center, and Barbells Cafe in The Club at Woodbridge. The township owns the land and structure, but the bar employees are not township workers.
