PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Detectives in Prince William County are now investigating after a crash that happened over a week ago in Woodbridge turned fatal.

The Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) said officers responded to the intersection of Old Bridge Road and Harbor Drive just after 11 a.m. on June 16.

Investigators said the driver of a Ford F150 pickup truck was approaching the Harbor Drive intersection when a Ford Edge entered the intersection in front of the truck’s path.

The two vehicles collided and the four people involved were taken to nearby hospitals.

On June 27, investigators said they learned 88-year-old John Richard Gerald Grosskopf – a passenger in the Edge – died from his injuries.

The driver and passenger of the pickup truck – a 44-year-old and 18-year-old man, respectively – are both expected to survive.

At the time of the crash, PWCPD said they charged 82-year-old Doris Ann Grosskoph with failure to follow a traffic signal. She was driving the Edge with John Richard Gerald Grosskoph at the time.

She has since been released on a court summons and her court date is scheduled for Aug. 26.
