OGA Golf Course hosted its third annual Give Back Scramble Tournament on Wednesday, June 26, as over 100 players from the local community participated in support of youth golf programs.

The event, organized by The Ladies Club and Players Club at OGA Golf Course, raised $8,500. The funds will directly benefit the Woodburn High School boys and girls golf teams, OGA Golf Course Junior Programs and Oregon Junior Golf. The tournament featured a diverse field, with teams of members, guests and local junior golfers enjoying a dose of friendly competition.

"We are thrilled with the turnout and generosity shown by our participants and sponsors," OGA Golf Course general manager Ryan Garry said in a press release. "The funds raised will make a significant impact on the development of young golfers in our community and to help break down the traditional barriers of entry into golf.”

The tournament's proceeds aim to support various initiatives, with the ultimate goal to nurture young talent and foster a love for the sport among youth in the area. Contributions will directly fund equipment and coaching, as well as covering participation fees for deserving young golfers, ensuring that their passion for the sport is not hindered by financial barriers.

"We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the players, sponsors, and volunteers from the Ladies Club and Players Club at OGA Golf Course, especially Rick and Catthy Eide for their exceptional efforts in making this event a success" Garry said. "The support is instrumental in advancing our mission of promoting youth golf and providing opportunities for growth both on and off the course."
