Yes, there's still plenty of summer remaining. But back-to-school events are sneaking into the schedules already.

The annual Woodburn Community Connection & Kids Fest is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, in Legion Park, 1385 Park Ave., Woodburn.

Organizers advise that parking is limited at Legion, so attendees should plan accordingly.

This Fest is in its 7th year and traditionally draws dozens of exhibitors and thousands of students, while features include backpack and school supplies, refreshments such as hot dogs and drinks and a variety of activities.

The event is free and students of Woodburn schools and their families are encouraged to stop in.
