    Man arrested after Woodland police say he stole $2,000 worth of fencing merchandise

    Woodland police arrested a man they accused of stealing roughly $2,000 worth of fencing merchandise.

    The Woodland Police Department was called to a retail store Tuesday afternoon in the 1800 block of East Main Street for a man who allegedly took fencing materials without paying , according to a Saturday Facebook post from the agency.

    Woodland police canvased the area and gave the suspect’s description to nearby agencies.

    Minutes later, the suspect was found and detained by officers from the West Sacramento Police Department.

    The man was later identified as a 25-year-old West Sacramento resident, according to Woodland police.

    The suspect was in possession of the stolen fencing items as well as methamphetamine.

    The man was booked into Yolo County Jail for grand theft and possession of methamphetamine.
