Police investigating after cyclist found in Colorado Springs roadway
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Police are working to learn what happened when they found a cyclist on a Colorado Springs roadway Friday. Police tell 11 News they were called to an area along Afton Way, just south of Palmer Park, at about 9:34 a.m. When officers arrived, they found the cyclist and called an ambulance. Details on the possible injuries the cyclist had were not available.
Driver crashes, nearly rolls into building while traveling 100+ mph in north Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A driver managed to escape mostly unscathed after crashing and flipping their car while traveling more than 100 mph on the interstate Thursday morning. The dramatic wreck ended with the car rolling off the roadway and coming meters away from ending up in a building.
Firework blows up in Colorado Springs man's hand causing serious injuries
Firefighters in Colorado Springs responded to 20 firework-related fires on and around the Fourth of July. Seven of those fires occurred in dumpsters where fire crews arrived to find fireworks going off in the dumpsters. About 10 p.m. on Wednesday, the Colorado Springs Fire Department received a call about a major firework injury in the Cheyenne Mountain area. When crews arrived, the man said he was holding a firework when it blew up in his hand. Firefighters said he lost most of his hand. The Colorado Springs Fire Department said that all fireworks are illegal in the city limits. Fire crews said they expect the fireworks calls to continue through the weekend and that "These incidents are one too many and can all be prevented."
