WOODLAND PARK, NJ - Woodland Park residents should not be alarmed if they see fire call boxes on utility poles covered in plastic bags. According to Business Administrator Sam Yodice, the pull stations are not being dismantled, but are temporarily out of service due to the need for repairs.

These concerns were raised after Woodland Park residents noticed and reported the covered fire alarm boxes near Memorial Middle School and Overmount Ave.

"They get tested frequently, and when they’re covered up, it just means they’re out of service temporarily," Yodice told TAPinto Passaic Valley.

When asked about the timeline for repairs, Yodice said that "it depends on the part and the repair. As you can imagine, these parts are not always easy to get, and sometimes it takes some time before the repairs are completed."

Residents are encouraged to exercise caution while the repairs are underway.
