14 Arrested in Northwest Georgia Human Trafficking Operation
Police arrested 14 people in a multi-agency investigation targeting sex traffickers and sex buyers in Northwest Georgia. The GBI’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit (HEAT), the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations & Criminal Investigation Division, the Cartersville Police Department, the Polk County Police Department, and the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office coordinated the operation. Police offered resources to 9 sex workers.

GBI announces Promotion of Kase Gibbs to Supervisory Criminal Intelligence Analyst
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announces the promotion of Canton resident Kase Gibbs to Supervisory Criminal Intelligence Analyst of the GBI’s Georgia Information Sharing and Analysis Center (GISAC) Watchdesk. Mr. Gibbs will be responsible for supervision of the staff assigned to the Watchdesk which serves as a single point of access for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of tips and leads concerning emerging, imminent or existing threats, and other criminal activity affecting the state of Georgia. The Watchdesk operates 24/7 and is staffed by criminal intelligence analysts who process requests and tips provided to the GBI. The Watchdesk processes more than 12,000 requests for analytical assistance, criminal intelligence information, and investigative support from law enforcement agencies throughout Georgia and the United States each year. “Kase embodies professionalism and excellence in his work and leadership,” said GBI Director Chris Hosey. “These traits are vital in his new role as Supervisory Criminal Intelligence Analyst of the GISAC Watchdesk. I am confident that Kase is well equipped and prepared to take on this crucial role in leading the Watchdesk team in providing information to the agency and state.” “The GISAC Watchdesk and its personnel are constantly working behind the scenes to protect the citizens of Georgia,” said Investigative Division Director Cynthia Adkins. “As Supervisory Criminal Intelligence Analyst over the GISAC Watchdesk, Kase will oversee this key responsibility. Given his service as a criminal intelligence analyst with the Sex Offender Registry Review Board unit, GISAC Watchdesk, and GBI regional investigative office in Cleveland, I believe that Kase is well prepared and will lead this unit in an exemplary manner.” Gibbs began his career with the GBI in 2018 as a criminal intelligence analyst assigned to the Sex Offender Registry Review Board unit. He then transferred to the GBI-GISAC Watchdesk for two years before being assigned to the GBI Region 8 (Cleveland) field office in 2021. Gibbs graduated from the University of Georgia in 2017 with two Bachelor of Arts degrees—one in Criminal Justice and one in Sociology. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is comprised of four divisions: the Georgia Crime Information Center, the Crime Laboratory, the Investigative Division, and the Legal Division. The GBI has over 900 employees and a current budget of $147,482,036. Mr. Gibbs is assigned to the Investigative Division.

Authorities responded to 365 Villa Rica Way, which is the address for Dr. Robert Gittelman's family dentistry off Dallas Highway.
