One dead, one arrested after Saturday shooting in Oakwood
A man is facing murder charges after a shooting that killed a man in Oakwood Saturday afternoon. A release from the Oakwood Police Department Sunday said officers were called to a home on Aster Place in the Prescott neighborhood off of McEver Road just before 4:45 p.m. Saturday to a report of a shooting. When they got to the scene, they found a vehicle that had crashed into the rear of a home on nearby Wild Berry Court.
‘Still standing’: Pike County congregation holds service in parking lot after historic church burns down
ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Last Wednesday, a historic Pike County burned to the ground — but its determined congregation isn’t giving up. On Sunday, Zebulon United Methodist Church (ZUMC) held a service in the former building’s parking lot, setting up tents to shield from the rain.
