Woonsocket's Tierney Breen thankful for her elusive trip to the National High School Finals Rodeo
Rock Springs, Wyo. —- The last two rodeo seasons have been filled with a lot of heartache and disappointment for Woonsocket’s Tierney Breen. Following a freshman year where she was told she may never ride her goat-tying mare and a sophomore season that was slowed by two knee surgeries, Breen finds herself at the National High School Finals Rodeo in Rock Springs, Wyoming, for the first time.

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. — Smithwick’s Gabe Glines and Woonsocket’s Tierney Breen both shined at Monday’s National High School Finals Rodeo. Glines scored a 145 in the boys cutting, tying him for first in the Monday morning performance. Breen scored a 7.65 in the goat tying, the best time in the Monday morning performance. Belle Fourche's Rance Bowden and Sern Weishaar teamed up for a 7.400 seconds in the team roping, earning the top time in Monday's evening performance.
