Smithsonian Exhibit on small towns being held at Rapid City Library
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - The Smithsonian and small area organizations at the Rapid City library highlight the history and innovations created by small towns. Spark! Places of Innovation is the Smithsonian Exhibit being hosted at the library. The goal is to educate the social, artistic, cultural, and historical innovations small towns, much like the ones in South Dakota, have contributed to the larger world. Additionally, The Rapid City library is bringing in area groups and speakers to discuss how they have made an impact in the community.
Gravel portion of Washington Ave. closed today
Beginning today, a portion of Washington Avenue will be closed to public travel. The City of Madison says the closure is for utility construction work as part of the Trojan Village Addition Development. The closure will remain in place until construction is complete on that section of the roadway. The portion that will be closed is the gravel portion of Washington Avenue between 15th Street and the DSU Foundation Building, at 1400 N. Washington Avenue.
