Author, illustrator and Wooster native Fern Haught’s debut young adult graphic novel, "The Baker and the Bard,"released in March.

The book is a gentle fantasy tale of friendship, determination, nonbinary identity and respecting nature. Perfect for fans of "The Tea Dragon Society," "Legends & Lattes" and "Animal Crossing."

In the graphic novel, two best friends set out on an errand for baking ingredients, only to find a magical adventure involving an odd fey creature and a herd of giant caterpillars.

Publisher’s Weekly said, "Haught’s debut graphic novel is an empathetic tale of friendship, trust and learning to balance expansion with preserving and living alongside nature.”

Haught will be a featured author at the Columbus Book festival July 13-14, participating in the Teen Fantasy panel and a book signing.
