WORCESTER ― Three delivery drivers from three different pizzerias have been victims of a recent wave of late-night armed robberies in the Vernon Hill neighborhood.

At 9:50 p.m. Sunday on Esther Street, a driver who had been sent to deliver food was confronted by two men, one holding a gun, according to police. An iPhone and undetermined amount of cash were stolen. Esther Street is off Vernon Street.

At 11:59 p.m. Thursday on Doane Street, a driver delivering food was approached by two men. One of the men pulled out a gun and demanded the victim’s keys. The driver gave them the keys and the suspects made off with his vehicle containing the victim’s iPhone and a small amount of cash, police said.

At 1:30 a.m. Aug. 12 on Lund Street, a driver arrived at a designated address and was approached by two men. As the victim was trying to give them change, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and demanded the food and an undetermined amount of cash, according to police.

All three streets — Esther, Doane and Lund — are within walking distance of each other.

There were no injuries in any of the robberies, which police say are under investigation. The Police Department is withholding the names of the pizzerias.
