The cap company in Grant City is owned by the Vernon Company out of Newton, Iowa. They have been employing area workers for the past 10 years. They purchased the building, land and assets from the Worth County Development. Which sold shares to start the factory back up after the closing in the early 1980s.

GRANT CITY, Mo. — Following the creation of A Few Good Men of Worth County, it seems that the female population of the area want to be involved as well. As a result, the organization A Few Good Women of Worth County, a group almost identical to that of the men, is currently being formed, with members being asked to join via Facebook.

GRANT CITY, Mo. — Worth County Head Start will hold an open house from 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, at its facility located at 508 E. Sixth St. in Grant City. The informational open house is for families with prospective Head Start students ages three to five who reside within the county.
Worth County rollover crash injures 1
(Grant City) -- One person was injured in a single-vehicle rollover accident in Worth County early Sunday afternoon. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. on U.S. Highway 169 roughly four miles north of Grant City. Authorities say a 2021 Chevy Suburban, driven by 46-year-old Lesa Darrah of Redding, was southbound on 169 north of 128th Trail, when it traveled off the west side of the road. The patrol says the vehicle then struck a MoDOT barrier and overturned before coming to rest on its top facing north off the west side of the road.
