    Elderly man hit by car near Worthington, found in creek 3 days later

    FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WBOY) — The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s help in an investigation after an elderly man was found in a creek near Worthington Friday morning.

    According to a press release, on Friday, July 19, deputies responded to Route 218 near Worthington to a call indicating an elderly man was found in Helens Run near Sycamore Hollow Road. A preliminary investigation found that an 81-year-old man had been struck by a vehicle while walking along the road late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning and that the vehicle left the scene.

    Suspect in Monongalia County murder believed to have fled West Virginia

    Law enforcement could not disclose the man’s condition.

    Deputies said that evidence collected at the scene indicates that the suspect vehicle will likely have a broken passenger side headlight and could be a Ford.
