CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — Some of those affected by the severe weather that brought a wave of destruction across eastern Kentucky and West Virginia in April will soon find relief courtesy of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

On Tuesday, FEMA will open a disaster recovery center in Charleston where residents in 11 West Virginia counties could qualify for individual assistance. FEMA aid is only available to those affected by the storms that swept through between April 2-6.
