West Virginia State Police investigate stabbing of South Central Regional Jail inmate

CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) — An inmate in South Central Regional Jail was taken to the hospital after a reported stabbing incident Monday.

According to the West Virginia Department of Commerce, the inmate was alert and responsive and has since been returned to the jail to recover from his injuries. The identity of the victim has not been reported.

The incident is being investigated by the West Virginia State Police.
