    Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority mourning loss of paramedic

    KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (WOWK) — The Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority is mourning the loss of Kori White, a KCEAA paramedic who recently passed away.

    Kori White was 34 years old and a paramedic. A close friend told 13 News she had an infectious personality and a smile that would light up a room.

    When she was 19 years old, she began helping others as a dispatcher, eventually becoming a medic and serving several counties, including Boone, Lincoln and Kanawha.

    The department posted on social media , “Words cannot describe the loss, pain and overwhelming grief so many are feeling. Please keep her family, friends and her big, blue family at KCEAA in your thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.”

    Local departments also posted on social media offering their thoughts and prayers.

    “Dunbar Fire Department would like to send its prayers and condolences to the friends and family of Paramedic Kori White. Kori was always good medic and we always enjoyed seeing her on calls. She will definitely be missed,” the Dunbar Fire Department wrote.

    The Sissonville Fire Department wrote, “We express our sincere condolences to the Kanawha County Ambulance Authority, family, and friends for the tragic loss of paramedic Kori White.”

    “Please keep our first responder family at the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority in your thoughts as they mourn the loss of Paramedic Kori White. Paramedic White routinely interacted with CFD personnel on emergencies within our city and her impact will not be forgotten,” the Charleston Fire Department wrote.
