Church fires in Lawrence, Gallia County considered arson, $10K offered for info

(WOWK) — Four church fires across Gallia and Lawrence County are being considered arson, and officials are offering $10,000 for information that could lead to the arrest of any suspects, according to a press release.

The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of State Fire Marshal said they along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Gallia and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Offices are looking for the suspects.

The fires started in April 2022 and have been as recent as Tuesday. Here is when and where the fires happened, according to the press release.

• Kokeen Enterprise Baptist Church – Gallia County – April 23, 2022
• Flag Springs Methodist Church – Gallia County – May 10, 2024
• Rehobeth Church – Lawrence County – July 6, 2024
• Fox-Fairview Church – Gallia County – Aug. 6, 2024
