Fire destroys Olive Hill tanning salon

OLIVE HILL, KY (WOWK) — A fire destroyed a tanning salon in Olive Hill on Friday morning, according to the city’s fire department.

The Olive Hill Fire Department said the fire broke out around 1:30 a.m. on Friday at Rock Star Tanning at Scott and Railroad Streets.

They said crews tried to get into the building through the second floor, but the heat and “deteriorating structural conditions” made this unsuccessful.

Officials said the salon had to be torn down because of the stability of the structure. Another business had smoke damage.

The business on Facebook posted , “Thank you to our customers for your support and we will keep you informed as we try to figure out our next steps in the future.”

No injuries are being reported.
