    Huntington Middle School lockdown lifted after threat

    UPDATE (1:40 p.m. Wednesday) – Cabell County Schools says a lockdown at Huntington Middle School has been lifted.

    Officials say law enforcement swept the building and gave an all-clear after a threat was found written in a bathroom earlier Wednesday. CCS says classes will resume as scheduled.

    “Thank you to Huntington Police Department and Cabell County Sheriff’s Office for their immediate response and assistance,” Cabell County Schools officials said.


    HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) — A threat written in a bathroom at Huntington Middle School has put the school on a precautionary lockdown, according to a spokesperson for the district.

    Cabell County Schools says the Huntington Police Department and the Cabell County Sheriff’s Office are on the scene.
