EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — It won’t be long before you can once again enjoy some clam cakes and chowder by the water in Riverside.

This Thursday, Aug. 22, Dune Brothers is set to hold a grand opening celebration for the clam shack at the Crescent Park carousel on Bullocks Point Avenue. The event begins at 5 p.m. and is open to the public.

The popular clam shack has been closed since 2020. Mayor Bob DaSilva announced earlier this summer that Dune Brothers owners Nicholas and Monica Gillespie would revitalize the stand with their “chef-driven, dock-to-dish approach” to seafood.

In addition to clam cakes and chowder, the stand will serve fried fish and other seafood staples.
