Americus Police: Man injured in shooting on Brookdale Drive

AMERICUS, Ga. ( WRBL ) — An aggravated assault investigation is underway after a man was injured in a shooting on Wednesday evening, according to the Americus Police Department.

Police were dispatched to the 200 block of Brookdale Drive at about 9:10 p.m.

At the scene, officers found a 19-year-old man had been shot. First aid was given until he was taken to the hospital.

The investigation by Americus police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Americus Police Department at (229) 924-3677. The after hours line is (229) 937-9011.
