On August 7 just before 5:50 a.m., officers responded to Scott Street and Jackson Avenue regarding a prowler call.

When officers arrived at the scene, they said several cars began to leave so they checked the area and found a vehicle unloading tires into a field on Los Angeles Street and Ogden Avenue. The vehicle quickly left the scene when they saw the officers.

That is when a black GMC Sierra pulled into the same area. Police say they were able to stop the vehicle and found four new tires in the trunk bed.

The two men in the vehicle identified as Pierre Smith and Charquentis Reed were detained at that time.
