    Woman dies after crash sends car into lake

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is dead after crashing her car into a lake in Shelby County Tuesday morning, officials say.

    According to reports, just before 8:30 a.m., deputies with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office responded to the two-vehicle crash on Miller Road and Mudville Road, where they found a car in the lake and another on the side of the road.

    Deputies immediately jumped into the water and pulled the driver out of her car.

    The woman was taken by the Shelby County Fire Department to Methodist North Hospital in critical condition. She later died.

    Drivers in the area should use Rosemark Road and East Kerrville-Rosemark Road as alternates until the scene is clear.
