Businesses on Winchester burglarized overnight

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two Hickory Hill businesses were burglarized early Monday morning, police say.

Just before 2 a.m., Memphis Police responded to a burglary at the Goodyear Tire & Services on Winchester Road. The front door glass was broken out, and the inside of the store was ransacked and vandalized.

Police say the cash registers were emptied and the safe boxes had been broken into.

The exact amount of money and merchandise taken in the break-in is unknown at this time.

Ten minutes later, officers noticed that the Safelite Auto Glass building, located on Winchester Road right across the street from Goodyear, had also been burglarized.

Police say a glass window on the side of the building had been broken out. The inside of the store was ransacked, and cash registers were emptied. Safe boxes were targeted and emptied as well.

Tools were also reportedly stolen during the break-in. The exact amount of merchandise that was stolen is undetermined at this time.

MPD is calling this a “good break-in.” Reports say the business does not have security cameras on the inside or outside of the building, and the suspects did not leave any fingerprints behind.
