Car crash, shooting occur within minutes of each other in Nutbush

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are investigating a shooting and a car crash that took place just minutes after each other on Jackson Ave.

At 3:21 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at 3675 Jackson Ave. The victim received medical treatment at the scene and refused to be transported.

Memphis Police say no one has been detained, but this is still an ongoing investigation.

At 3:53 p.m., officers responded to a multi-vehicle crash at 4118 Jackson Ave. One male victim was taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

Memphis Police said that two people have been detained. All three lanes are closed as they investigate.
