MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is now in jail after Arkansas State Police say they found seven kilos of cocaine in the trunk of his car Thursday evening.

Angel Lazala Soto, 59, of New York, is charged with felony trafficking of a controlled substance.

Around 6 p.m., ASP says they stopped a Honda HRV for a traffic violation on Interstate 40 just East of the 271-mile marker in Crittenden County.

Troopers say they found seven-kilo bundles of cocaine hidden in the spare tire area of the trunk after searching the vehicle.

Soto claims he was traveling from Austin, Texas to New York.

At that time, Soto was arrested and taken to the Crittenden County Detention Center where he was booked and charged.
