MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The woman charged with a plot to sell Graceland will try to get out of jail Friday.

Lisa Findley, 53, of Missouri, has been in federal custody for three weeks following her arrest last month. She has a federal court date set for Friday in Memphis.

Findley is charged with mail fraud and aggravated identity theft in connection to an alleged scheme targeting Graceland and Elvis Presley’s family.

Prosecutors say Findley assumed a number of different identities as she tried to convince a judge to auction off Elvis Presley’s estate in Memphis to pay an alleged $3.8 million debt owed by his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley.

The Justice Department says the entire story was made up.

Findley will face a mandatory minimum of two years in prison for aggravated identity theft and a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison for mail fraud if she is convicted.
