Two Number One Contender’s Matches, More Added To 8/9 WWE SmackDown

WWE is loading up the card for the August 9 episode of WWE SmackDown .

Friday’s show will feature the fallout of WWE SummerSlam. As previously announced, Roman Reigns will make his first appearance since his return at WWE SummerSlam. There, he cost Solo Sikoa his match against Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

WWE announced that #DIY (Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano) will face Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) in a #1 Contender’s Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship. #DIY lost the titles to The Bloodline on the August 2 episode.

Likewise, Santos Escobar will face Andrade in a #1 Contender’s Match for the WWE United States Championship. LA Knight won the gold by beating Logan Paul at WWE SummerSlam.

Speaking of Knight, he will hold a United States Championship celebration.

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes also teased that he will be on the show.
