Gisele Shaw is moving on from TNA Wrestling.

Fightful (via Fightful Select ) is reporting Shaw has been granted her release by TNA. It was noted that Shaw recently requested her release and it was conditionally granted. TNA asked Shaw to work the company’s most recent tapings in Louisville and put someone over on her way out of the company, which she did.

Shaw’s match was taped this past weekend and will air on TNA Impact in the near future. Fightful’s report cites TNA sources who claim the promotion “worked smoothly to grant the release and didn’t put up a fight in keeping her around.”

Gisele Shaw has been feuding with Tasha Steelz in TNA. She is booked for Scott D’Amore’s new Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling promotion later this year. TNA sources expect her to be a regular there.

Gisele Shaw had been with TNA Wrestling since 2022. She made her official on-air debut in February 2022. She challenged for the TNA Knockouts and Knockouts Tag Team Championship during her tenure. Shaw’s last title opportunity was a loss to Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace at TNA No Surrender in February.

Gisele Shaw is taking back ‘diva’

Although the term “diva” has long been met with mixed perceptions, Gisele Shaw has opted to focus on its positive aspects.

Shaw explained why she chose to embrace the word during an interview with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard . Shaw knows it had a bad connotation in some circles, but she made it a defining characteristic of her persona, “The Quintessential Diva.”

“For me, growing up, the ‘diva’ meant so much to me. I looked up to these people who were strong, confident women, who would just weren’t given the opportunity, let’s say. I feel like it’s kind of nice that I’m representing that,” Shaw said. “And I go, ‘You know what? Being a diva means that you’re beautiful, confident, strong, independent, and you can kick butt in the ring.’ So, hopefully, people see that now and then they’re like, ‘Okay, let’s not have the dirty, bad connotation for the diva.’ Turn it around.”

Shaw also spoke about her goals in pro wrestling, noting she hopes to motivate and empower people to be better versions of themselves.

“I want to motivate people and empower people. And hopefully push them to their limits that they’re like, ‘Oh my gosh. That really lit a fire under me. I want to perform at that level constantly.’ I feel like that’s my goal in wrestling. And I just hope that I leave a mark, other than the fact that it’s like, ‘She’s the first trans-woman who was signed with TNA Wrestling,” Shaw explained. “And I think that should just be a part of my legacy. Hopefully, when I’m done with wrestling, it’s more of just, ‘She was great to work with, and she just pushed me to my limits.’”
